Paul Jones - Senior Site Engineer

(also Principal Contractor role under CDM) who started as a CEGB craft apprentice working at Trawsfynydd, moving to Marchwood, local Health Authority and Wylfa as a fitter and then back to Trawsfynydd as an Assistant Site Engineer working on Projects. Instead of studying for his HND as the role then required, he persuaded his line manager to allow him to study for his NEBOSH Diploma which he completed.

He has subsequently been appointed as Site Project Engineer and now his present post. He is still studying - Level 4 NEBOSH at the moment.


John Heath - Intermediate level Waste Engineer

Started as an apprentice electrician with Babcocks in Birmingham, worked as an electrician at Trawsfynydd, Ffestiniog and again at Traws before being appointed as an Assistant Site Engineer, then Site Engineer and now Intermediate level Waste Engineer. John's highest qualification is ONC but he has got to his current position through gaining experience and demonstrating his competence.


Sian Downey - HR Manager

Started in the industry at Wylfa Power Station, as a clerical assistant from school. Worked in various clerical roles and was identified for succession. She trained and worked as a Health Physics Monitor and then moved into HR providing the HR service for 150 people in Production Operations. She was appointed last year as HR Manager at Trawsfynydd


Andrew Wilson - Environment, Health, Safety & Quality Manager

Started as an apprentice fitter at Springfields but left before finishing, to work as a Assistant Scientific Officer (Lab assistant).

He studied part-time for ONC/HNC/Degree. He then moved into Quality Assurance and Health & Safety, studied for his Masters Degree (part-time again) and is now the EHS&Q Manager for the site.


Tony Gaskell - Operations Manager

An apprentice fitter in the north west of England. Moved to the South-West to work at Hinkley Point power station.

He then moved to Barnwood Headquarters (Gloucester) in a Technical role (he must have done his HND on day release by this time), Assistant Engineer-Mechanical at Wylfa plus various other senior Engineering roles, became Head of Day Production and then moved to Oldbury Power Station as Head of Day Production and is now our Operations Manager at Trawsfynydd.
