Originally from India, I completed an MSc in Polymer Science and Engineering and was looking for a career that would make use of my technical and academic knowledge in a commercial setting. I was attracted to BPI because, being one of Europe’s leading polythene film manufacturers I was confident they could really put my skills to good use from my very first day in the job.

As a Quality & Process Technologist I am responsible for developing new film products for food and agricultural applications to ISO9000 standards. I work within a highly motivated team who are committed to continuous improvement at all levels within our business. I am very proud of my research and development work which has contributed to the production of stronger but thinner films which continue to provide excellent performance features whilst helping customers to meet their environmental obligations through the application of less film by weight. In addition to product development projects I have helped to reduce customer complaints by up to 75%.

I hope to develop my technical skills further and continue to learn new things every day. In the future I hope to move into an operational management role within the business.

Like every job it can be hard work as products and markets are changing all the time, but it is also lots of fun with opportunities to develop further. I would recommend BPI to anyone who wants a rewarding career in manufacturing or the packaging sectors.
