Graduate Engineer

Typical job description:

A graduate discipline engineer who works in a design, operations or project engineering environment providing professional engineering support/solutions to offshore oil and gas operations and projects.

Key Processes:

The exact nature of the work will depend on the size of the employing organisation.
However, it will almost certainly involve:

  • Undertakes engineering studies/ design projects using basic engineering principles;
  • Supports experienced engineers in the resolution of technical issues;
  • Prepares documents and reports to support studies/ recommendations;
  • Develop, submit and manage budgets for assigned projects;
  • Carry out site/vendor visits – onshore/offshore;

Entry Level:

Good honours/masters degree in an appropriate engineering discipline

Working towards chartered engineer status;
Medical and offshore survival certification as appropriate

Pay and conditions:

Pay and benefits vary between companies but generally starting salaries are in the range of £25,000 - £35,000 per annum.
