Specialist/Principal Engineer

The exact nature of the work will depend on the size of the employing organisation.
However, it will almost certainly involve:
- Provides specialist technical/ engineering advice and guidance to offshore/onshore operations teams;
- Instigate and manage engineering analysis/studies and consultancy projects;
- As technical authority, reviews and approves engineering/ operational documents;
- Identify and promote innovation and R&D opportunities;
- Develop, submit and manage budgets for assigned/team projects;
- Lead teams/projects, planning and co-ordinating activities and allocating resources;
- Provides technical advice and guidance to less experienced engineers and actively contributes to their development;
- Represents the company at industry forums and at meetings with partners/clients/ vendors
Entry Level:
Good honours/masters degree in an appropriate engineering discipline;
Considerable experience in a senior/specialist design/ operational engineering role

Chartered engineer status;
Regarded as a specialist in technical discipline;
Medical and offshore survival certification as appropriate

- Wide exposure to other technical disciplines and offshore operations
Pay and conditions:
Pay and benefits vary between companies but generally salaries are in the range of £70,000 - £85,000 per annum.
