1st Line Manager/Shift Super' (Tech)

Typical job description:

The first line manager / shift supervisor reports to the plant manager and is responsible for the safe and efficient running of the production and for the safety and the well being of all shift personnel within designated area.  Manages, implements and monitors all legislative requirements of all plant and equipment within scope of authority

Entry Level:

S/NVQ in Process Engineering Maintenance L3
AND National Certificate in Operations and Maintenance Engineering L3 OR
National Diploma in Operations and Maintenance Engineering L3 OR
Relevant L3 Engineering Equivalent
AND Related Job Experience
AND Functional Skills - Numeracy, Literacy and IT L2

Pay and conditions:

First Line Managers/Shift Supervisors can expect to earn between £20,000 and £30,000.

Working hours can involve shifts, evening and weekend work and long hours. First Line Managers/Shift Supervisors can work on construction sites, or in mineral processing or oil exploration, and may be based in remote parts of the world.

Conditions vary widely depending on the work environment. First Line Managers/Shift Supervisors may need to wear protective clothing such as overalls, gloves, and a hard hat, depending on the role.
