Director - Production

The exact nature of the work will depend on the size of the employing organisation.
However, it will almost certainly involve:
- Responsible for all production activity on the site
- Strategic management of the operations including supply chain support to the site
- Development of the long term production plan and site plan
- Nominated Site Licensor’s representative
- Leads the site management team
Entry Level:
Degree in Engineering or Science or equivalent
Chartered Engineer or Scientist
Significant experience of production and related operations on sites

Industry Standard:
MBA in Production management or related area or MSc in Engineering or Production engineering
Competencies:
- Good strategic management skills
- Good management and leadership skills and record
- Safety & health and procedures management
- Financial and planning capability
- Classified Person on the national register of Radiation Classified Workers
Knowledge needed for the role:
- Full knowledge of Nuclear site licence conditions, Nuclear Installations Act and IRR
- Site role within the company business plan
- Sound knowledge of production processes
- Health & Safety issues, relevant regulations and codes of practice
- Environment statutes and regulations
- Emergency planning and procedures for the site
Pay and conditions:
Salaries are in the range of £60,000 to £120,000 plus allowances and incentives, dependent on site size and responsibilities.
Between 35 and 40 hours per week normal hours and on call at all times. The industry has an excellent safety record and culture.
